CITY OF BRIDGEWATER

ARTICLE 1

TITLE AND APPLICATION

Section 101. Title.

This ordinance shall be known and referred to as “The Official Zoning Ordinance of Bridgewater, South Dakota.”

Section 102. Jurisdiction.

The provisions of this ordinance shall apply within the incorporated area of the City of Bridgewater. The City shall share Joint Jurisdictional Zoning Powers with McCook County in a one-mile extra-territorial zone outside of the corporate boundaries.

Section 103. Intent.
This Ordinance is designed to promote the health, safety, and general welfare of the community, to coordinate physical development of the community with needs for public services and facilities, and to conserve the value of buildings and property by encouraging the most appropriate use of land.
