The City Council of the City of Bridgewater met in the Council Room for a special meeting on 08/06/09. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by President Guenthner. Answering roll call were Bob Anderson, George Guenthner, Phil Heiberger, Verlyn Hudson, Caron Neumann, and Ryan Watters. Mayor Martin Barattini arrived at 7:35 pm. Others present: Finance Officer Joan Julson, Attorney Mike Fink, Ken Haugen, and Jerry Smithhart.

The rental agreement from Nordwald Rental was gone over. Motion by Anderson, second Heiberger to approve lease with Carl and Ann Nordwald as amended. Motion carried.

The council discussed the termination of the municipal bar lease agreement with Jerry Smithhart. Motion by Anderson, second by Heiberger to accept the Operating Agreement termination of Jerry Smithhart effective Sunday night August 9th. Roll call vote: all present voted aye. Motion carried. Bar committee will be taking inventory on Sunday starting at noon. Finance officer will take care of changes to our liability insurance, advertising and any other licenses we may need to stay open. Anderson reported that Brian Cable would be willing to manage the liquor store for us during this interim time in order for us to keep it open. Mayor Barattini arrived at this time. After informing the Mayor of the prior discussion, a motion by Heiberger, second by Neumann to grant the Government Building/Municipal Liquor Store committee authority to hire Brian Cable on an interim basis subject to final approval of the city council at the next regular meeting. Motion carried.

Motion by Heiberger, second by Watters to adjourn. Motion carried. Time 7:44 pm.
